Description of the case before and after

Mastopexy without prostheses

It's very common for the breasts to become empty and droopy after pregnancy. It's also natural for this to happen spontaneously over the years. But this is not always the case. Sometimes it happens in very young women who have never been mothers, as in the case of this lady, whose breasts were very saggy, empty and without projection; with a lot of excess skin.

The appearance of her breasts didn't match her body or her youthful spirit. These changes often have a major negative impact on women's self-esteem.

A mastopexy is the surgery that lifts the breast, improves its contour and gives it a more youthful appearance.

When the volume of the breast is adequate and satisfies patients, it is not necessary to use breast implants; it is possible to lift the breast (by removing excess skin) and give it greater projection (using the mammary gland itself).

In most cases of mastopexyOne of the difficulties is increasing the projection of the breast without using breast implants.

This technique, developed by Dr Ricardo Carvalho, allows the breast to have an adequate projection without resorting to breast implants.

This surgery was performed under general anaesthetic and selective nerve blocks, which allowed the patient to move her arms naturally a few hours after the surgery. What's more, as she woke up pain-free, she was able to recover more quickly and return to her daily routine more quickly and with a better quality of life.

The decision to go ahead with surgery is often a long one, due to a woman's fear of undergoing a procedure that she believes will be painful, with a difficult and lengthy recovery and fear of scars.

The preoperative consultation is essential to clear up any doubts, to explain what the surgery is like and the recovery period.

After mastopexyIt is recommended to wear a post-surgical bra for one month and to perform manual lymphatic drainage. The appearance of the scars, which is of great concern to patients, tends to improve with time and post-operative care (rest, application of healing cream and moderating massage).

The images show the result five months after the surgery.
