Breast reduction RC426021
Description of the case before and after
Reduction mammoplasty
Breast hypertrophy (an increase in the volume of the breast) often has a negative impact on a woman's life. But some situations of hypertrophy can have a negative impact that goes far beyond what one might imagine. This case is a good example of such a situation, in which the hypertrophy is so great that the woman finds it very difficult to do basic everyday things, such as choosing clothes, maintaining proper hygiene (because the breast crease is always sweaty, even with all the care taken) or exercising.
You can see the effect of the weight of the breast, which the bra strap has on the shoulders (they become reddish, macerated and grooved). These extreme situations benefit greatly from reduction mammoplastyThis is surgery to reduce the size and weight of the breast. This surgery is performed under general anaesthetic. And even in these extreme cases, it is possible for the patient to return home the day after surgery.
Recovery is no more difficult than in other cases of reduction mammoplasty. But the feeling of weight relief in the neck, shoulders and back is great. In this case, around 800g were removed on each side.
These images represent the result 6 months after surgery. The appearance of the scars depends on the quality of the skin, the surgical technique and post-operative care.
