Breast augmentation RC3210353
Description of the case before and after
BREAST AUGMENTATION
A breast augmentation is a surgery that treats certain changes in the breast. In this lady's case, her breasts had involuted after her pregnancy, meaning that part of her breast had atrophied and decreased in volume, no longer in proportion to the rest of her body. These changes have a negative impact on some women's mental health, and mental health is just as important as physical health. This lady underwent breast augmentationIn this case, we use silicone prostheses to treat hypotrophy (a decrease in the volume of cells) and hypoplasia (a decrease in the number of cells). These changes often occur simultaneously.
Round, high-profile, nano-textured prostheses with 355cc were used. The size of the prostheses was decided during the preoperative consultation, after several measurements of the lady's breast and according to her expectations. The prostheses were placed through the breast crease. We can see that the scar is hidden and can only be seen when the breast is lifted.
A subfascial technique was used, which means that the prosthesis was placed in front of the muscle, but in a way that reduces the rounded effect on the upper part of the breast. The patient underwent surgery under general anaesthetic and returned home the day after the operation. The images in the operating theatre show the immediate appearance of this surgery. The result changes over time.
At first the changes are more obvious, for example the swelling (oedema) is more noticeable in the first few weeks and after a month it is much less. From the first month onwards, the changes are more gradual, but they are constant, so there is never a final result. The images show the result three months after surgery. The cleavage retains a very natural look, and it is not noticeable that the lady has had surgery; the patient has not needed to wear bras with padding again.
