Abdominoplasty - RC1100039
Description of the case before and after
ABDOMINOPLASTY
Pregnancy can change the shape of a woman's abdomen in various ways. In this case, it has caused the straight abdominal muscles to move apart (also called abdominal diastasis), some excess skin (mainly in the lower abdomen) and an increase in the amount of fat. All these changes can be treated with abdominoplastyThis is a surgical procedure performed under general anaesthesia. In this case, the rectus muscles were plicated (i.e. the muscles were brought closer to the midline of the abdomen with sutures), excess skin was removed and some fat was aspirated.
This surgery was performed under general anaesthesia in an operating theatre; the patient recovered for some time in the anaesthetic recovery room and then spent the night in her room at the clinic. Two days after the surgery, she returned home.
Recovery is not very painful, mainly due to the type of anaesthetic and the painkillers that are administered during surgery, which allows the patient to wake up pain-free. During the recovery period, it is important to wear a compression garment, perform manual lymphatic drainage and apply creams that improve healing.
We can see the results a year and a half (18 months) after the surgery.
